About the Teacher

Jill McCormick has been a Waldorf kindergarten teacher since 1988.  Some of her experience was here at the Santa Fe Waldorf School where she has also taught handwork and chorus.

She has always found that human expression through play, music, art, and nature can be important components for maintaining a balanced life.   Waldorf education included all of these aspects to be part of a child’s daily experience and she immediately felt at home in a Waldorf kindergarten.  Her special interest in early childhood is preventing learning challenges through foundational movement and early identification.  She specialized in human development and preventing learning difficulties through Gradalis and West Coast Institute.  She was in the masters program at  Antioch University NE for Waldorf Education as a Healing Art. Her path then led her to the study of the healing energies of Tone, Color and Movement through Tamado Academy.

Jill especially enjoys singing and storytelling. She has sung with the Santa Fe Women’s Ensemble, First Presbyterian chancel choir, and Santa Fe Symphony Chorus. Her other joy is needle felting and making fairytale pictures.
